....Il suo Riccardo, deve essere considerato tra i più importanti del dopoguerra. Chi avesse dei dubbi ascolti la registrazione live dell'esecuzione RAI del 14 Ottobre 1969. Dirige Bartoletti. Cantano la Caballé e Sereni. Come test può bastare il finale dell'opera, dall'aria "Ma se m'è forza perderti". E' un Verdi intenso, pieno, quasi muscoloso, ma mai volgare, al contrario controllato, trattenuto da una attenta sorveglianza, tutta tesa a smussare le asperità e ad evitare ogni esagerazione.

Flaviano Labò’s Riccardo must be considered among the most important renditions after the war. Any who might have doubts about this should listen to the live recording of the RAI presentation from October 14, 1969.
Bartoletti directs. Caballè and Sereni sing. As a test it would be enough to hear the end of the opera, from Aida, “Ma se m’è forsa perdenti”. It is an intense Verdi, full, almost muscular, but never vulgar. On the contrary, it is controlled, kept under eye, and taut to soften the harshness and avoid any exasperation.

.....per quanto riguarda Flaviano Labò, schietto tenore verdiano fra i pochissimi emersi nell'ultimo trentennio, ricordo soprattutto una memorabile "Forza del destino" al Teatro nuovo di Torino e un altrettanto notevolissimo "Ballo in maschera" radiofonico in cui seppe mettere in ombra persino la grande Caballè.

…With regards to Flaviano Labò, one of the very few genuine verdian tenors who have emerged in the last thirty years, I can particularly recall a memorabile Forza del Destino at the New Theater in Turin, and an equally remarkable radio transmission of Ballo in Maschera in which he managed to overshadow even the great Caballe.
