Ho ascoltato Flaviano per la prima volta in "La Bohéme" al Teatro Comunale di Modena e già dalle prime note rimasi affascinata dalla quella voce calda e squillante, da quella spontaenità e generosità che lo caratterizzavano sulla scena, come nella vita. Ricordo che sperai in cuor mio di poter un giorno cantare con lui. Anni dopo il sogno si avverò e mi ritrovai Liù accanto a flaviano a Bilbao. Rimasi colpita dalla disponibilità e gentilezza dimostrata con tutti. Capì subito che, per la forte ammirazione che provavo nei suoi confronti, ero parecchio intimidita; con un paio di battute mi mise subito a mio agio ed instaurò in breve quel rapporto cameratesco, che rimase poi tutta la vita.

I heard Flaviano for the first time in “La Boheme” at the Town Theater of Modena, and from the first notes I was completely fascinated by that warm, vibrant voice, by that spontaneity and generosity which characterized him on the stage, as well as in life.
I remember that in my heart I hoped one day to be able to sing with him.
Years later the dream came true and I found myself next to Flaviano at Bilbao.
I was struck by the openness and kindness he showed everyone.
I realized immediately that, because of the strong admiration I had for him, I felt intimidated; with a couple of jokes he put me at my ease and we began that comradely relationship that lasted a lifetime.
