REGOLAMENTO

Il concorso avrà luogo a Piacenza presso il Teatro Municipale dal 1° al 4 marzo 2004

1) LIMITE D’ETA’
Il Concorso ha carattere internazionale: possono parteciparvi concorrenti di qualsiasi nazionalità.
Il limite d’età per partecipare al concorso è fissato in anni 35: saranno ammessi i nati dal 1° gennaio 1969.

2) ISCRIZIONE ED AMMISSIONE

2.1) Ogni candidato deve restituire alla Segreteria del Concorso l’accluso modulo d’iscrizione, completato in ogni singola voce, oppure inviare domanda di partecipazione, a mezzo lettera, fax o e-mail ai seguenti indirizzi:

Vale la data del timbro postale di partenza o di spedizione.
Le domande di partecipazione dovranno contenere, pena l’inammissibilità:
• Cognome e nome, luogo e data di nascita, nazionalità, indirizzo e recapito telefonico;
• Registro vocale (soprano, mezzosoprano/contralto, tenore, baritono, basso);
• L’indicazione di 5 (cinque) arie d’opera.
Alla domanda di partecipazione dovranno essere allegati i seguenti documenti:
• Titolo di studio e curriculum artistico (preferibilmente in lingua italiana);
• Certificato di nascita in carta libera (o autocertificazione);
• Fotocopia del documento d’identità o del passaporto.

2.2) L’ammissione al Concorso verrà tempestivamente comunicata agli iscritti. La conferma di partecipazione consentirà di richiedere il visto d’ingresso in Italia, ove fosse necessario. I candidati ammessi al Concorso dovranno presentarsi in Teatro l’1 marzo 2004 alle ore 10, per l’appello e per l’ordine di chiamata della prima prova eliminatoria.

2.3) Una volta ottenuta l’ammissione, il candidato dovrà inviare l’attestazione bancaria di versamento della quota d’iscrizione di 50,00 € al netto delle spese bancarie, da versare presso la Banca Monte Parma Spa, sede centrale, sul conto corrente bancario numero 32935/9 (ABI 6930 – CAB 12700) intestato alla Fondazione Arturo Toscanini. Sulla ricevuta dovrà apparire il nome del candidato che effettua il versamento. Il pagamento della tassa d’iscrizione dovrà essere effettuato entro e non oltre il 28 febbraio 2004.
La tassa d’iscrizione non è rimborsabile a nessun titolo, fatta eccezione per quanto previsto al punto 8).

2.4) Non sono ammessi candidati risultati vincitori del Primo Premio in edizioni precedenti.

3) LA GIURIA

3.1) Il Presidente della Giuria è nominato dalla Fondazione Arturo Toscanini. Le decisioni della Giuria del Concorso sono insindacabili e definitive.

4) PROVE

4.1) Il Concorso è articolato in tre fasi con il seguente calendario:
1 e 2 marzo 2004: Eliminatoria - 3 marzo 2004: Semifinale - 4 marzo 2004, ore 21: Finale

4.2) L’ordine di chiamata alle prove sarà stabilito, presenti tutti i candidati, mediante sorteggio della lettera dell’alfabeto che fornirà l’ordine di presentazione suddiviso per ogni categoria vocale.
Questo ordine di ascolto verrà mantenuto durante tutte le prove. I candidati si esibiranno in ordine di registro vocale partendo dal più grave e terminando con il più acuto.

4.3) La Giuria adotta le proprie decisioni in seduta segreta, a maggioranza dei voti espressi e renderà note ai candidati le proprie decisioni a conclusione di ciascuna delle tre fasi del Concorso.
In caso di parità prevale il voto del Presidente.

4.4) Il candidato dovrà presentare 5 (cinque) arie d’opera. Tutte le arie devono essere eseguite a memoria complete di recitativo e cabaletta. L’intero programma dovrà essere cantato in lingua originale. I concorrenti si devono presentare alle prove con gli spartiti dei brani scelti.

• Eliminatoria: il candidato eseguirà un’aria a sua scelta tra quelle indicate nel programma presentato.
La Giuria ha inoltre facoltà di far eseguire una seconda aria del programma presentato.

• Semifinale e Finale: il candidato eseguirà una o più arie a scelta della Commissione, tra quelle indicate nel modulo d’iscrizione.

4.5) Nelle prime due fasi, Eliminatoria e Semifinale, i candidati saranno accompagnati al pianoforte da collaboratori designati dall’Organizzazione del Concorso. Tuttavia ogni candidato può farsi accompagnare, a proprie spese, da un pianista di propria fiducia.

Nella fase Finale i candidati saranno accompagnati dall’Orchestra Sinfonica della Fondazione Arturo Toscanini.
Semifinale e Finale saranno aperte al pubblico.

4.6) Non sarà tollerato alcun ritardo da parte dei candidati durante lo svolgimento del Concorso, a meno che non risulti compatibile con il regolare svolgimento della competizione e sia giustificato da motivi riconosciuti validi dal Presidente della Giuria.

5) VINCITORI E PREMI

5.1) La proclamazione dei vincitori verrà effettuata al termine delle prove Finali.

5.2) Ai vincitori verranno assegnati i seguenti premi:

1° Premio: 5.000 € - 2° Premio: 3.000 € - 3° Premio: 2.000 €
che saranno liquidati al lordo delle ritenute di Legge.

5.3) Con decisione insindacabile della Commissione Giudicatrice, i premi sono assoluti ed indivisibili e possono anche non essere assegnati o assegnati in parte.

6)ATTIVITA’ ARTISTICA

6.1) I vincitori dell’8° Concorso Internazionale “Flaviano Labò” potranno essere chiamati ad interpretare le Opere programmate dalla Fondazione Arturo Toscanini nell’anno 2004-2005 e a sostenere i ruoli loro assegnati.

6.2) E’ fatto obbligo ai vincitori di cittadinanza italiana o della Comunità Europea di iscriversi all’Ufficio Speciale di Collocamento per i Lavoratori dello Spettacolo.
Ai vincitori extracomunitari sarà richiesto di adempiere alla normativa vigente in materia di acquisizione del permesso di soggiorno per uso lavoro.

7) RIPRESE AUDIO E VIDEO
La Fondazione Arturo Toscanini si riserva il diritto di riprendere e registrare, senza limiti di tempo, la Semifinale, la Finale e le rappresentazioni delle Opere, senza nulla dovere ai partecipanti che, sottoscrivendo la domanda di partecipazione, accettano espressamente di cedere gratuitamente alla Fondazione Arturo Toscanini qualsiasi diritto di utilizzazione economica di dette registrazioni.

8) ANNULLAMENTO DEL CONCORSO
Se per cause di forza maggiore in Concorso non potesse avere luogo, le iscrizioni saranno annullate e la tassa di ammissione rimborsata.

9) VALIDITA’ DEL TESTO
Il Regolamento del Concorso 2004 viene pubblicato in italiano.
In caso di contestazioni e per ogni controversia sarà competente il Foro di Parma.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The competition will take place in Piacenza at the Municipal Theater on March 1-4, 2004.

1. AGE LIMIT

The Competition is international and applicants may be of any nationality.
All applicants must be under 35 years of age, born on or after January 1, 1969.

2. REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION

2.1 Each candidate must return the attached application form to the Competition Secretary, complete in its entirety, or send a written request to participate via letter, fax or e-mail to one of the following addresses by and no later than February 20, 2004:

The date of the postal stamp or delivery receipt will determine the validity for eligibility.
The application must contain the following information in order to be considered:
- Surname, name, place and date of birth, nationality, address and telephone number
- Vocal register (soprano, mezzo-soprano/contralto, tenor, baritone, basso).
- Indication of 5 (five) opera arias.

The following documents must be attached to the application:
-accademic qualification and artistic curriculum (written preferibly in Italian)
-birth certificate in original or photocopy
-photocopy of identity card or passport.

2.2 Acceptance to the Competition will be comunicated as quickly as possible to the participants.
Confirmation of acceptance entitles the competitor to apply for an entry visa to Italy, where applicable.
The competitors admitted to the Competition MUST PRESENT THEMSELVES AT THE THEATER ON MARCH 1ST 2004 AT 10.00 AM, FOR ATTENDANCE AND TO BE ASSIGNED AN ORDER OF PRESENTATION FOR THE FIRST ROUND OF ELIMINATIONS.

2.3 Once admission has been granted, the applicant must send proof of bank payment of the registration fee of 50.00 euro net exclusive of bank fees, to be paid to the Banca Monte Parma Spa, Main Headquarters, to the account number 32935/9 (ABI 6930, CAB 12700) made out to the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini.
The name of the applicant should appear on the receipt.
Payment of the registration fee must be made by and no later than February 28, 2004.
The registration fee will not be reimbursed under any circumstances, except for the condition stated in item no. 8.

2.4 Winners of a previous First Prize in this competition are not eligible to compete.

3. JURY

3.1 The President of the Jury is named by the Fondazione Arturo Tuscanini.
The decisions of the Jury are final and above dispute.

4. TRIALS

4.1 The Competition consists of three phases with the following dates:

March 1st and 2nd 2004 : Elimination trials
March 3rd 2004 : Semi-finals
March 4th 2004, 9:00 PM : Finals

4.2 The calling order at the trials will be established, with all competitors present, by drawing letters of the alphabet which will give the order of presentation sub-divided by each vocal category.
This calling order will be maintained for all trials.
The competitors will perform in order of vocal register, from deepest to most acute.

4.3 The Jury will decide in secret sitting, by majority vote, and will communicate their decision to the competitors at the end of each of the three phases of the Competition.
In the case of a tie, the President’s vote will be decisive.

4.4 The Competitor must present 5 (five) lyric arias.
ALL ARIAS MUST BE PERFORMED BY MEMORY INCLUDING RECITATION AND CABALETTA.
The entire program must be sung in the original language.
The competitors must present themselves at the trials with the scores of the selected passages.

Eliminations: the competitor must perform an aria of his choice from those indicated in the presented program. The Jury may at its discretion request performance of a second aria from the candidate’s submitted program.

Semifinals and Finals: the competitor will perform one or more arias as chosen by the Commission, from those indicated in the application form.

4.5 In the first two phases, Eliminations and Semifinals, the candidates will be accompanied by a pianist designated by the organizers of the Competition.
Each candidate is free to be accompanied by a pianist of his choosing, at his own expense.

In the Finals the candidates will be accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini.
The Semifinals and Finals will be open to the public.

4.6 No allowance will be made for lateness on the part of the candidates during the progress of the Competition, unless such lateness is compatible with the progress of the competition and is justified by reasons recognized as valid by the President of the Jury.

5. WINNERS AND PRIZES

5.1 The names of the winners will be announced at the end of the Finals.

5.2 The following prizes will be awarded to the winners:
1st prize: Euro 5.000
2nd prize: Euro 3.000
3rd prize: Euro 2.000
which sums will be paid net in accordance with applicable withholding taxes required by law.

5.3 By indisputable decision of the Jury Commission, the prizes are whole and indivisible and can be not awarded or awarded in part.

6. ARTISTIC ACTIVITY

6.1 The winners of the 8th “Flaviano Labò” International Competition can be called upon to perform in the operas scheduled for the 2004-2005 season of the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, and to perform the roles assigned to them.

6.2 Italian or European Comunity citizens will be required to register themselves with the Ufficio Speciale di Collocamento per i Lavoratori dello Spettacolo.
Non EEC citizens will be requested to apply for work permits as required by law.

7. AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDINGS

The Fondazione Arturo Toscanini reserves the right to film and record, without time limit, the Semifinals, the Finals, and the lyric performances, without any compensation to the competitors who, by submitting the application form, expressly accept to grant free of charge to the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini rights to use said films and recordings in any economic way.

8. CANCELLATION OF THE COMPETITION
If for reasons beyond the control of the organizers the Competition cannot take place, the applications will be annulled and fees reimbursed.

9. TEXT VALIDITY
The rules of the Competition 2004 are published in Italian.
In the case of dispute or controversy the competent jurisdiction shall be the Forum of Parma.

According to article 10, 1st comma, of law number 675 of 31/12/96 the personal data submitted by the applicant shall be held on file at the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini for the purposes of the Competition. The applicant’s rights with this regard are stated in article 13 of the same law.
